I, honestly, did not see this kind of success coming and definitely had no idea that a dinner event could be so much fun AND do so much good at the same time. When my mother first told me about Boots & BBQ several months ago, I didnʼt really grasp the concept of it. "Itʼs simple," she said. "We want to invite prominent members of the Atlanta community to an eloquent banquet hall, serve fine cuisine, present FML in a most professional fashion and make everybody dress like cowboys." To be honest with you, I had no idea how in the world this "simple" idea was going to work out in the end but... it totally did. It was one of the most memorable, spectacular nights I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. From the first gut-belted note of a little girlʼs rendition of "The Lordʼs Prayer" to the last teardrop created by John Schippʼs wonderful video documenting Feed My Lambs, the "Boots & BBQ" was an astonishing success. I was so grateful to meet so many new people that were genuinely interested in the efforts of FML. I hope nothing but good things for everyone who put this event together and took the time to make it the best benefit dinner that I have ever attended. Last time I checked, this event raised over $95,000, not to mention all of the attention and publicity it has received in the Atlanta area. Amazing, simply amazing.
